Under Suprematism I understand the primacy of pure Feeling in
creative art. To the Suprematist the visual phenomena of the objective world are meaningless, the significant thing is feeling as such, quite apart from the environment it is called forth.
Kasimir Malevich's Black Square has come of Age. Happy 100th brithday to you! The power of the Black Square still holds, whether in hereness or thereness: Expansion into infinity, breaking the square, it entices us to feel and dream 100 years later.
Feeling.......quite apart from the environement it is called forth, is this Brahman dreaming, would the Black Square have been possible without Russian Iconography?
The Black Square 820 mm x 812 mm: a door to step through: again and again and again. The Black Square turned inside out, upside down, a line, a trapazoid, seen in perspective, the thick heaviness of the dripping ink, it is border and enclosure, total opening,seeping at the edges, running away from itself, its own best friend and stranger all at the same time.
This is an Hommage to the Black Square; the most intimate of modern paintings.
